Carol & Penny, Julian & Emma Neighbours Makeover
Carol has recently moved into her daughter Penny’s home. Carol’s lifetime of possessions from her much larger house is sat in boxes in the granny flat. Julian and Emma also need help with their own cluttered home office.

Penny’s partner Jamie has been renovating the home and has almost finished a granny flat for Carol when he was diagnosed with a condition which effects his skin and lungs. The renovation has slammed to a halt and Carol is sharing a bedroom with her grandson in the main house. Next door neighbours Julian and Emma have noticed the state of the home and called the Space Invaders for help.
As Jamie’s condition deteriorates and the list of things to do only grows, Carol’s lifetime of possessions from her much larger house is sat in boxes in the granny flat - more than double what will be able to fit in the flat. Can the team get Carol into her own space and bring harmony back to this struggling family?
Granny Flat & Outdoor Area - Before
Carol downsized from her three-bedroom house of 20 years to this small flat, resulting in a big clutter of possessions that cannot fit into the limited space. Additionally, there was much work to be done both inside and outside of the granny flat. The outdoor area was unfinished and cluttered, with mismatched fencing, junk, and bricks for stairs. Angie was able to find a bike and a hot tub amidst the mess. Carol was left with the difficult decision of letting go of her lifetime of clutter in order to enjoy the next phase of her life.
Granny Flat & Outdoor Area - After
Thanks to Jamie's efforts, the granny flat has been stylishly transformed by Cherie into a functional living space. The kitchen received new storage and was merged into one big, open lounge and kitchen, allowing for more space and less clutter. The bedroom was revamped with a new, feminine style.
The first-ever much-needed outdoor area makeover in Space Invaders, with the addition of a pergola to provide Carol with additional space to relax. The backyard was given a cohesive feel with the installation of a dark wood-coloured pergola, new stairs, new fish friends :), and beautiful non-slip outdoor pavers from Beaumont Tiles Basalt Grey Textured 20mm Paver that modernises and upgrades the look of every space.
Carol was thrilled with the results and complimented Cherie on her miraculous work...

Home Office - Before
These parents used this room as a dumping ground for their children's toys, musical instruments, and anything else they couldn't find space for. The room was covered in old built-in robes, and there was no space for relaxation.
Home Office - After
Julian and Emma worked with Peter to clear out the clutter and decided to donate the items they no longer needed. Emma experienced a highly emotional moment when she discovered items that once belonged to her late grandmother. The old built-in robes were removed to let in natural light from the windows, new cabinets and more practical office storage were installed, and new panelling and a comfortable couch were added, transforming the space into a comfortable and functional office.
