Hybrid Flooring FAQs
What are the hybrid flooring pros and cons?
Hybrid flooring brings together the advantages of most of the flooring choices out there and manages to avoid most of the weaknesses too. Hybrid flooring is affordable, durable, and easy to install, its water resistant, scratch resistant, and 100% VOC/Phylate free. The only thing is that it may not have as long-term durability as Tiles, and they might be thicker than other floating floors options with all their layers.

What is hybrid flooring made of?
This is a difficult one to answer as there are quite a few layers to Hybrid floating floorboards. Beaumonts specialise in 2 types of Hybrid, each with their own combination of layers; SP Core, and Isocore.
SP core: Multi-layer protective coating which includes a SE+ anti bacterial finish, decorative layer with structure, a stone based polymer core that is water resistant, the tight lock click system layer, and sound absorbing pad.
Isocore: the top layer is a surface protectant using FX3 technology infused by Ultra-Fresh treatment against mold and mildew. Then comes the vinyl layer for wear and tear. The decorative film is next then with vinyl for durability. Isocore technology that is highly engineered is the central material. Finally, the click locking layer, then the sound mitigating underlay and another Ultra-Fresh treatment.
Is hybrid flooring waterproof?
Both the SP core and the Isocore are water resistant, Hybrid floorboards click together nice and snug, but moisture can still get in between the floorboards. They are not a moisture barrier for areas such as a shower cubicle.

How to clean hybrid flooring?
As hybrid is water resistant, it can be wet mopped with a micro fibre mop, simply clean with any PH Neutral cleaner. Make sure it’s not boiling hot. No steam mops please! The Isocore technology is also Anti-Stain.
How is hybrid flooring installed?
Hybrid flooring has click locking technology. A patented interlocking system that makes installation faster with a very strong connection between the boards.
Hybrid must not be used in bathrooms, shower cubicles, laundries or toilets.
