Bathroom Tapware - FAQ’s
What is the best material for tapware?
Stainless steel is the best material for tapware because it is tough and durable. Brass and Copper may look gorgeous at the start, but they can tarnish or corrode, and who wants that in their bathroom or kitchen? Instead, we are spoiled for choice in colour using stainless steel, as it is available in Brushed Gold, Champagne, Brushed Nickel, Gun Metal, and Chrome using plating technology.
Which type of tap is best for the bathroom?
There are two main design tips we give for a bathroom design, firstly create a focal point, and secondly, pay attention to touch points. The main touch points for a bathroom are the tapware! The best type of tap is going to be beautiful and feel really good to use. Most people absolutely love mixer taps, it makes it simple as there is only one hand needed, but just make sure it’s smooth to use and doesn’t feel clunky. And don’t forget, with technology, you can do away with taps altogether and just have a sensor with no touch involved!
How long should tapware last?
A quality tap can last for decades. Beaumont’s stand-out Haus 25 range tapware comes with a German-made cartridge that has a 25-year guarantee and a 2-year labour guarantee. Leaving you with the confidence that your taps will be helping you wash your hands for years to come.
Should all tapware match?
When designing your bathroom, it’s nice to have a consistency in shape to add to the overall feeling of the room when you walk in. If your focal point in your bathroom is an oval freestanding bath, try making your tapware follow an oval theme too. Or, if your basins are rectangular, try finding tapware that has some straight edges incorporated. But overall, when you have a design theme for your room, it’s up to your if your tapware matches exactly.
How to clean tapware?
It’s very important to keep chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from your tapware, they are not friends and they never will be. Instead, regularly use a soft micro-fibre cloth and warm water, and when you need a deep clean, use a weak solution of ph neutral cleaner, and rinse off afterwards.
