Andrew Winter, host of Selling Houses Australia has embarked on the most exciting project yet - his own dream home. Of course, Andrew chose Beaumonts for his tile selections including our Rock Salt range.

British-born Andrew started his real estate career when he was just 17 and he's worked in the industry ever since. He launched the TV series Selling Houses from London and then moved to the Gold Coast with his family to work on all 14 seasons of FOXTEL's Selling Houses Australia. The award-winning show has made Andrew one of Australia’s best-loved TV presenters.

Andrew is passionate about the world of real estate and brings a wealth of knowledge, insight and brutal honesty to Selling Houses Australia which he always seems to get away with! “When you walk into someone else’s home, it’s much easier to see what the issues are as an outsider,” says Andrew. “And I don’t sugar coat those issues!”

Long time Gold Coast residents, Andrew and his family moved south to the prime coastal strip running from Broadbeach to Currumbin to build their dream forever home. They wanted a home that was flexible in its layout; a home in the heart of a lively suburb with the ‘walk to factor’.

They created a distinct and lofty home to take advantage of the ocean views; 3 levels of accommodation, with a highly desirable roof terrace feature on level 4. All of this styled in a functional modern coastal look, rather than a pure Beach, or Hampton’s style.

“My dream house is never a constant, it’s evolved. I always set myself attainable dreams. I’ve never dreamt of living in a 16 bedroom house in the south of France. So I’ve kind of fulfilled it in a lot of ways."

Terrace - Before

The hero area of this property is the back patio – a space that was completely closed off from the view. Dennis removed the brick wall enclosure and overgrown pergola and trimmed back the jacaranda tree.

After opening up the space to the wonderful views, Dennis re-tiled the patio, replacing the old mission brown with a lighter and softer Warm Ash Tumbled Travertine. This space now integrates seamlessly with the new kitchen as an extended outdoor entertaining area.
