Denise knows her mom, Sandra, is a kind and generous soul, perhaps to a fault. After Sandra's husband Ron passed away eight months ago, the house they shared for 30 years became a constant reminder of his absence. Clutter filled every corner, making it difficult for Sandra to move forward.
Determined to help her mom heal and rediscover her own life, Denise reached out to the Space Invaders team. With their expertise, they embarked on a journey to transform Sandra's home from a place of overwhelming memories to a space that reflected her personality and passions.
A Functional & Stylish Haven for Creativity
One of the key challenges was creating a space for Sandra and her granddaughters to enjoy their love of arts and crafts. Cherie, the designer, knew exactly what to do. She utilized Beaumont Tiles' stunning Barcelona Strip White Emboss Satin 50 x 200 and Barcelona White Satin 50 x 200 on the walls of Sandra's room. These beautiful tiles are not only stylish but also incredibly practical – any splashes of paint can be easily wiped down, making cleanup a breeze!
Love the Look? Get Inspired with Beaumont Tiles
For those who love the sleek, modern look of the Barcelona Strip tiles but need different sizes or finishes, Beaumont Tiles offers a variety of options. The Craft White Matt provides a similar finish in a different size, while the Safi White Structured Gloss offers a similar size with a beautiful glossy finish. No matter your vision, Beaumont Tiles has the perfect tile to bring it to life.
From Overwhelmed to Overjoyed
Gone were the heavy browns and outdated furniture. Cherie's design incorporated Sandra's love of pastels with duck egg blue, soft pinks, creams, and whites. The living room became a haven for comfortable seating, ample storage, and beautiful lighting, perfect for spending cherished time with family and friends.
A Room for Every Reason
The previously awkward "70s room" with the bar received a complete makeover. Now a "Hall of Fame" dining room, it showcases Sandra's achievements with pride. Guests can enjoy meals and celebrate her life in a space that reflects her personality.
Finding Herself Again
Perhaps the most emotional transformation was Ron's former room. Once a constant source of grief, it became Sandra's new sewing haven. Designed with her granddaughters in mind, this space allows Sandra to pursue her passion while creating lasting memories with the next generation.
Sandra's initial trepidation gave way to pure joy as she saw the final reveal. A simple "Have I died and gone to heaven?" encapsulated the transformation. With a grateful hug to Cherie, Sandra finally felt ownership of a space that reflected her own desires and her future.
