Selling Houses Australia - Terrigal NSW

Selling Houses Australia 2023

Terrigal NSW

Retired policeman, Grant, has grown up and lived in the NSW central coast all his life. Originally from Gosford, he settled in Terrigal when he purchased his property in 2000.

Grant’s main motivation to sell started over a year ago when his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, since then Grant has taken on the role of carer for her. He decided to sell his house so he can buy something smaller they can both live in.

Grant’s house was quite dated, so he decided to do some renovations on it to get it ready for sale. He started ripping out walls, ceilings, and flooring to get a head start for the tradies… but then found himself stuck when he couldn’t get the labour in to do the work. Grant has been living in a house of half-done jobs while also trying to market it for sale. Buyers have turned away from his house because there’s so much left to do which is daunting for any new buyer.

Bathroom - Before

Experience the transformation of a house without a main bathroom into a luxurious oasis with Wendy's expert design with Beaumont Tiles' exquisite products. The complete renovation showcased our commitment to quality and style, starting with the flooring. Wendy's choice of Florence Stone Grey Extra Textured tiles brought a touch of warm rustic terracotta, infusing the space with a cosy and elegant ambience that perfectly complemented Mediterranean or Wanderlust styles.

For the walls, the stunning Syrus Stone White Matt tiles from Beaumont Basics took centre stage. This Australian-made hero range provided a timeless and sophisticated backdrop for the bathroom. To add a touch of uniqueness, the Ignition Mint Gloss tiles were used for a matching feature wall. With its trending concave finger mosaic design, these tiles created captivating linear reflections and a raw, rustic feel with casual elegance.

No bathroom is complete without stylish and functional accessories, and Wendy delivered with Beaumont Tiles Brushed Gold Misha range. From the shower head and shower arm to the vessel basin mixer, round robe hook, towel ring, and toilet roll holder, every detail was carefully considered. These gold-accented accessories added a luxurious touch, elevating the overall design aesthetic. To complete the space, the Broughton Shave Cabinet was the perfect addition. Its sleek design and ample storage provided both functionality and beauty, enhancing the bathroom's overall appeal. With Beaumont Tiles' comprehensive range of products, this bathroom renovation truly became a masterpiece of style and craftsmanship.

Interior-Before

With walls and ceilings missing, half-finished paint jobs, mismatched floors, and no main bathroom, Wendy faced a daunting task when she arrived at this house. Her goal was to alleviate potential buyer concerns by completing the unfinished renovation work and infusing the house with personality. By opting for a cost-effective approach, Wendy refreshed the kitchen while retaining the existing cabinetry, updating the benchtops, flooring, and finishes to create a modern aesthetic. The resurfaced marble-effect benchtops, splashback, and kickboards were complemented by a white palette reflected in the basin, tap wear, and pendant lights. The flooring was extended into the loungeroom, uniting the colour scheme. Repairs and painting addressed the missing walls and ceilings, with emphasis placed on the master bedroom and home office. A touch of basic T.L.C., including new flooring, paint, and window furnishings, revived the lounge room. Inspired by coastal towns, Wendy's coastal boho selections featuring timbers, wicker furnishings, soft blues, whites, and greens added the perfect finishing touch.

Exterior -Before

Despite the construction-like appearance, the property boasted ocean views and a fantastic outdoor entertaining area. Dennis aimed to complete the house painting, enhance the front entrance's appeal, and repair the pool deck. The front and back of the house received a grey facade with darker trim and a garage door. Dennis revitalised the gardens by replacing old plants with grasses and natives. The front path was upgraded with a concrete and coarse aggregate mix, while the front stairs and veranda were adorned with patterned tiles. The sloping backyard was levelled and returned, and the decaying wooden pool decking was replaced with durable composite boards. A glass pool fence matched the existing top deck fence, and outdoor furniture complemented Wendy's coastal boho style.
