The 8-bedroom property on a desirable street in a beautiful suburb just outside of Sydney didn’t attract even one registered bidder. Gareth and Esther, self-proclaimed retired Carnies, just couldn’t understand why no one was interested in their home! The large amusement rides parked up at the front of the house might have had something to do with it.

By the time they had sold their business and the amusement rides had been moved, the market had started to shift and the amount they were hoping to sell for was looking at risk. Gareth and Esther understand that time is of the essence and the sooner they sell the sooner they can get on with the next chapter of their lives. They desperately need the help of the Selling Houses team to inject some light and life back into the home and show potential buyers how to utilise the many bedrooms.

Interior - Before

Wendy took note of the colour scheme throughout the house, which was in desperate need of her attention. The combination of red walls, white walls, and dark flooring clashed and cast a gloomy atmosphere. To address this, Wendy decided to revamp the wooden flooring in the main living space. The orange tones were sanded away, and a lighter polish was applied, instantly brightening the area and creating an airy ambience. Additionally, Wendy opted to paint the walls with a natural and modern colour, harmonising the entire space.

Although the budget didn't allow for a new kitchen, Wendy recognised that the tropical splashback demanded a change. Consequently, she decided to remove it and replace it with Beaumont Tiles' Shape Carrara Gold Large Hexagon Satin Mosaic, a classic and cost-effective mosaic that exudes luxury. This exquisite mosaic, available in Carrara Gold and Calacatta designs, effortlessly complements both warm and cool schemes. Its popularity ranges from kitchen splashbacks to bathroom floors. By introducing this elegant marble-look tile, Wendy elevated the overall feel of the kitchen, infusing it with a touch of opulence.

Bathroom-Before

The main bathroom stood out as Wendy's top priority during the renovation process. It was evident that the bathroom was outdated and not well-suited for its size in an 8-bedroom home. Wendy recognised the need for a grand and spacious family bathroom that would truly complement the scale of the house. To achieve this, a clever design approach was adopted, merging the bathroom and separate toilet into a single, expansive space. The result was a stunning and glamorous bathroom featuring a freestanding bath, a double vanity, and a beautifully tiled feature wall. This transformation elevated the bathroom into a luxurious sanctuary, befitting the grandeur of the residence.

Exterior -Before

The front of the house needs a new lease of life, and the adventure bus had to go! Dennis worked to improve the street appeal of the house by stripping back the overgrowth, removing old plants and laying fresh turf. The garage was fitted with a new roller door and received a new lick of paint, Dennis opting for a colour that complimented the unavoidable mission green of the house. The BBQ area at the front of the house wasn’t very inviting or fully utilised. The green-tinted roofing filtered out the natural light, these panels were replaced with clean sheets and a new BBQ was installed to create an alfresco area that you would want to spend time in. For the backyard, the arborists were brought in to remove a dead tree and the large branches hanging over the roof of the house. Dennis used mulch both in the front and back yard to inject some nutrients into the existing and new plants.
