What is a tile adhesive and how do I select the right one?
Choosing the right adhesive or tiling system can make or break your project, after all, it is the glue that keeps your tiling project together.

What is a tile adhesive?
A tile adhesive is a glue used to bond tiles onto a surface or substrate.
The surface, substrate, tile and location you are tiling each have varied features.
Due to these varied characteristics, there can be many different adhesive requirements hence why there are so many different types.

What adhesive is best for my tiling project?
There are many things that impact what type of adhesive or tiling system is best for your project. There are three key questions to ask yourself.
1. What surface or substrate are you tiling over?
Each surface or substrate has a different capacity here are a few of the common types: Concrete, existing tiles, fibre cement, plasterboard, render, waterproofing membrane, screed, heated concrete.
2. What type of tile do you have and how big are they?
Is your tile ceramic, porcelain, marble, natural stone or glass? Does it have a high or low porosity? Are they small tiles (light) or large tiles (heavier)
3. What location are you tiling?
Are you tiling an internal or external wall/floor?
