Nathan, Georgina, and their two daughters, Charlotte and Isabella, have experienced a significant amount of stress and trauma as a result of their unfinished renovation. The couple's decision to start a side business to pay for the mounting expenses has resulted in even more clutter and chaos in the home. Georgina's demanding schedule and Nathan's childcare responsibilities and cleaning duties have left them both feeling drained and overwhelmed. As a result, the couple feels a sense of unease in their own home and are hesitant to invite guests over.

This situation highlights the potential negative impacts of home renovations on family well-being and the need for adequate support and resources to manage such projects.

Peter often finds that people living in long-term disarray have given up, and it is because when they look around, all they can see are problems. And with time, the problem just grows bigger and the clutter crisis becomes a relationship crisis as well.

Bathroom - Before

The bathroom is a disaster zone. The shower is dripping, the vanity is falling apart, and the walls are riddled with mold. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. As the renovation work kicked off, asbestos was discovered and had to be removed, adding to the chaos. To make matters worse, upon closer inspection, the damage turned out to be far more extensive than initially thought, leading to a complete gutting of both the bathroom and laundry rooms. The flooring was ripped up, and the place was infested with termites, necessitating urgent treatment. Suffice it to say, the renovation crew had their work cut out for them.

Bathroom - After

After days of renovations, the bathroom was finally restored to its former glory. The meticulous process involved laying down floor and wall sheets to ensure a waterproof surface before the tiling could begin. Cherie, meticulously selected Lagoon Light Grey Microtec Textured, a warm and light shade for the floor to create a timeless aesthetic. The addition of a new vanity completed the look, and the bright and vibrant wall tiles Barcelona Strip Green Emboss Satin added a pop of colour that elicited a positive response from Georgina. "I love the tiles, I love the colour" she exclaimed with admiration. Overall, the bathroom renovation was a resounding success, a testament to Cherie's excellent taste and careful planning.

Laundry Room - After

The laundry room underwent a significant transformation. The old and unstable metal floor, along with the rusted metal sheeting, was completely demolished and replaced with sturdy and modern materials. The adjoining wall between the two rooms was also revamped to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal.

Renovation expert Cherie aimed to infuse personality into the room and opted for a stunning patterned tile Majorca Palm Springs Deep Blue Matt that left a lasting impression. The addition of a new larger sink and modern fittings further enhanced the functionality of the space. The eye-catching Boulevard Denim Gloss wall tiles served as a striking backdrop that tied the entire room together.

The renovation project left a lasting impression on onlookers as well. Georgina, seeing the newly rebuilt laundry room, exclaimed, "I love the floor tiles, Oh my God, it's beautiful." The laundry room now stands as a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful design and skilled craftsmanship of the Space Invaders team.

Kitchen & Lounge Room - Before

In the heart of the household, the kitchen serves as the hub of this family's home-based enterprise, requiring a vast array of utensils accumulated over time. However, this crucial space has been caught in a state of limbo, with construction halted midway due to the unfortunate dismissal of a builder four years ago, followed by a protracted legal battle. According to Cherie, "There's so much unfinished work here, it's not funny." The unfinished plaster is scattered all around, creating an arduous task for the painters.

The family lounge is in a state of disarray, as numerous items intended for other areas of the house have found their way in and remain unsorted. The space is cluttered with various items scattered haphazardly about, creating a sense of chaos. Adding to the room's imperfect state is a conspicuous crack in the ceiling, further contributing to the less-than-ideal ambiance.

Kitchen & Lounge Room - After

During the process of sorting out clutter in the household, Peter provided assistance to Georgina and Nathan in resolving their communication issues by addressing their needs as individuals and as a couple. Meanwhile, Cherie and her team undertook renovations in the kitchen area, including the addition of extra storage, an innovative feature wall, and fresh painting. Angie contributed to the efforts by upcycling a trolley for Georgina to use in storing her home-business items.

Georgine and Nathan's lounge room has undergone a transformation, with previously unfinished painting throughout the house being redone in a crisp white. The result is a fresh, clean feeling throughout the space, which has been further enhanced by the removal of a dividing wall to free up room for much-needed storage units.

Despite budgetary constraints, Cherie came up with an out-of-the-box idea to add some warmth to the room by incorporating timber into a stunning feature wall. Luxury curtains were also added to complete the modern look of the space, which now boasts ample storage and a dedicated dining table for the family to enjoy.

“The work that Cherie’s done is fantastic, the value added with the bathroom and laundry room is indescribable. This feels like a brand-new house”, said Alex – Local real estate agent. The property value has increased for a record-breaking result of $340,000 AUD.
