Katie and Alex laid out their vision for a 21st century country house, asking the other contestants to keep it eco-friendly and create modern pastel accents.
This vision let the remaining teams draw from Beaumonts' Country Chic style to transform the Gundaroo home into a warm and welcoming yet completely modern family-friendly retreat.
Pastels, particularly cool blues are balanced perfectly with warm earthy tones throughout the house, as well as tiles emulating traditional farmhouse and country cottage materials.
Eliza & Mikaela strike a nice balance between pastel blue patterned tiles and timber finishes in the main dining room and ensuite. Both spaces are light and airy while keeping a cozy country vibe.
But it was Pete and Courtney who pulled out all the stops to create Katie and Alex's dream home. It starts with the red brick look tiles that greet visitors at the front door (shown here) and continues right into the rainforest vibe in the bathroom as specified in the five house rules.
Here, Pete and Courtney have combined exposed brickwork and a lush vertical garden above the freestanding bath with Templar tiles on the floor. These warm beige patterned tiles strongly evoke ancient temples hidden deep within tropical rainforests.
