The Block 2025

WA

Britt & Taz

   HOUSE 3

Western Australian cops Britt and Taz are leaving behind their badges — and their two young kids — to chase their Block dream. At 30 years old, the pair are determined to represent the uniform with pride, while also taking on the biggest physical and emotional challenge of their lives.

Expect some weather shock: coming from 40–50°C heat, Daylesford’s sub-zero mornings will be a rude awakening for Taz — who plans to layer up even when the sun’s out.

“There’s definitely pressure to represent coppers well,” Taz says. “Even when you’re off duty, people see you as a police officer. So we’re going to stay grounded, stay real, and do our best.”

WEEK 1:

MASTER BATHROOM

Fresh off the stress of pulling all their tiles off the walls and reapplying them, Britt and Taz are relieved when the judges start with praise for their tile choices. Darren is especially impressed, applauding their smart time- and budget-saving move to use wallpaper on some walls. Shaynna appreciates their use of fluting, a fresh colour palette, and the large skylight — but she’s less impressed with the vanity height, going so far as to bring out a prop to make her point. She’s also not a fan of the nickel tapware or, unsurprisingly, the vertical towel rails. Marty has issues with the wet area layout, calling the shower screen “minuscule” and the showerhead awkwardly positioned in the corner. “It just feels spatially really incorrect,” he says. While the room is well executed, he feels it lacks the charm and character of Daylesford. Thankfully, the judges wrap up with a few more positives — the bath is lovely, the curved tile shelf is “absolutely stunning,” and the overall finishing is close to perfect. A classic feedback sandwich.

Marty Fox

“Incredible materiality. These tiles are stunning.”

Darren Palmer

“It’s striking that balance between Instagram-ability and broad enough for a market”

Shaynna Blaze

“You don’t have to tile floor to ceiling. I’m loving subtle lighting with these beautiful travertine light fittings” Of course, they match our tiles!

WEEK 3:

MASTER ENSUITE

Britt and Taz’s separated wet and dry zones sparked debate, with Darren loving the vanity and storage, but Marty slamming the shower design as “an upmarket abattoir” that felt cold and unsettling. Shaynna criticised impractical towel rail placement yet appreciated the concept, while Darren strongly defended the space. In the end, the judges agreed the idea was brave but the execution fell short. What do you think?

WEEK 4:

MAIN BEDROOM

Britt and Taz’s main bedroom and walk-in wardrobe wowed the judges with its serene, elevated feel, where soft textures and thoughtful styling created a refined, nature-connected space. Their central bed placement framed the view beautifully, and the overall palette was praised as sophisticated and harmonious. While small details like pendant lights, plants, and paintwork drew criticism, the room’s execution was strong enough that Marty still declared it the easiest sell of the day – a testament to the couple’s growing design confidence.

WEEK 5:

LIVING & DINING

Britt and Taz delivered a standout living and dining space in House 3, where the judges were not only wowed by the timber ceiling and neutral palette but also by the refined finishes throughout. Shaynna called out the heating tile flooring as especially classy, perfectly complementing the rendered fireplace and enhancing the sense of warmth and sophistication in the room. The tiles, paired with strong craftsmanship and thoughtful styling, elevated the overall design and helped create a space that felt both polished and inviting.

HEPBURN BATHHOUSE CHALLENGE

Britt and Taz’s Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa was praised for its calming, timeless feel, with Neale highlighting how the three different tile choices worked beautifully together. The tiles complemented each other to create a serene green oasis, striking the perfect balance between relaxation and sophistication. While small details like a simple stool and excess greenery were noted, the thoughtful tile combinations ultimately defined the space and delivered a spa that felt truly inviting.

WEEK 7:

KITCHEN

Britt and Taz delivered a showstopping kitchen in House 3, complete with a striking timber ceiling, a nearly five-metre island bench, and top-grade appliances that left the judges in awe. The sense of luxury was further grounded by their choice of the Crossland Match Textured Tile on the floor, whose stone-look variation and textured finish added depth, durability, and a natural elegance underfoot. While the fridge placement drew a small critique, the combination of premium finishes and the Crossland tile’s timeless appeal created a kitchen that felt beautifully considered and undeniably the heart of the home.

WEEK 9:

LAUNDRY, MUD ROOM, PANTRY & WC

Britt and Taz bounced back this week with five completed spaces that oozed bougie sophistication, earning praise for their dramatic pantry, “sexy” laundry, and cleverly styled mud room. Darren called the pantry layout the best way to handle the space, while Shaynna admired the love and polish poured into every detail, noting that buyers would feel it too. The only real miss was the lack of a fridge, but otherwise, the team delivered timeless appeal. In the powder room, Darren thought the pink tile choice was “gorgeous”, perfectly matched with floor-to-ceiling mirrors to create warmth and cosiness. Marty, ever the realist, said this was the first home he could picture himself buying — and with a gallery-like garage rounding out the back-of-house, the judges agreed it was a slam dunk for House 3.

ALFRESCO

Britt and Taz kept their winning streak alive with an alfresco space that wowed from the moment the judges stepped in. Featuring a barbecue, pizza oven, and teppanyaki plate, their outdoor kitchen felt luxurious and inviting. The standout? Our Fortress Travertine Beige Hilite Silk Tile, a porcelain design that captures the warmth and charm of natural travertine, adding texture and timeless elegance to the teppanyaki benchtop. While the judges questioned the absence of a lounge area and the unexpected wine bar in the shed, they praised the couple’s attention to detail, craftsmanship, and ability to sell the dream through their thoughtful design.

WEEK 11:

BACKYARD & POOL

Britt and Taz turned their backyard into pure paradise — and it shows. With help from Block legend Troy Lovett, their lush, detail-rich outdoor space had the judges calling it “heaven.” From the cosy lounge by the stone fireplace to the whimsical creek and greenhouse, every element feels thoughtfully considered. The minimalist pool design is a standout, perfectly paired with Beaumont Tiles’ Crossland Match Extra Textured Tile in the cabana — a choice that ties the natural textures of the landscape with modern elegance. While the judges debated how the cabana could better function as a second living space, there’s no denying Britt and Taz have created a dream-worthy outdoor escape that captures both heart and style.

WEEK 7:

MEZZANINE ENSUITE

Courtney and Grant's week on The Block has been filled with ups and downs. After winning the surfboard challenge, they faced criticism for their $27,573 striped bathroom. Marty Fox found the bathroom's design overwhelming, while Darren and Shaynna appreciated its unique style and impact. Despite some concerns about the floor plan, Darren declared House 2 as one of the most beautifully finished and luxurious homes he's ever seen on The Block, making it his favorite of the season.

Marty Fox

“This is not translate well on a marketing campaign. I'm not picking up what they are putting down.”

Darren Palmer

GUEST BEDROOM & LAUNDRY

Courtney and Grant had a tough week but successfully changed their mezzanine bedroom plan. The judges praised their efforts and the newly installed wardrobes. They also changed their minds about the guest ensuite. Shaynna suggested adding amenities to the office, and Darren and Marty praised the design. The judges were impressed with Courtney's art choices and predicted their unique style would set trends. However, the laundry still needed improvements. Overall, the couple's finishes and styling were praised for their consistency and beauty.
