WEEK 1:
MAIN BATHROOM
Kylie and Brad are nervously anticipating the judges' verdict on their bold black bathroom, fearing potential criticism. Their choice has undoubtedly created one of the most divisive rooms of the week. While the judges acknowledged the bathroom's design merits, they unanimously agreed that the absence of a bathtub was a significant misstep. They warned that this decision could significantly hinder the property's marketability.

“I love the Dekton. But the herringbone tile is out of place, from a real estate perspective it would be a 1 out of 10” |
Darren Palmer |
“I like the dark palette, the Dekton. Great use of the skylight. But the patterns and the lights give a mid-2010s nightclub vibe” |
Shaynna Blaze |
“I’m loving the subtlety of the Dekton, in the walls, the shower and the floor. I love the feeling of it” |

WEEK 3:
MASTER ENSUITE
Kylie's monochrome ensuite is a sleek and stylish affair. With white walls and black accents, it's a modern take on a classic look. Darren, however, is immediately impressed by the stunning Shou Sugi Ban feature wall. Shaynna loves the contrast with the lighter timber vanity and agrees that it's the perfect beach house vibe. The judges are impressed with Kylie and Brad's ability to listen to feedback. Marty thinks the room's softer look will appeal to buyers, but Shaynna is concerned that the Art Deco elements are too much. She also dislikes the bath in the shower and the bath mat. Shaynna is worried that Kylie and Brad are losing their way, but Marty defends their style, arguing that it could appeal to a broader market.

“This isn’t loud, it’s throwing too much at the buyer, they’ve warmed up the bathroom by toning down the black” |
Darren Palmer |
“The timber is absolutely stunning. Everything that I wanted to see. It works super well.” |
Shaynna Blaze |
“The contrast with the blackbutt, it’s a beautiful combo. But stop the Art Deco, this does not say beach house” |

WEEK 7:
MEZZANINE ENSUITE
House 4's day spa-inspired bathroom, though plagued by tiling issues, was ultimately a success. Despite its $28,148 price tag, the judges were impressed by the overall design and aesthetic. Darren praised the timber-look tiles and the blush pink basin, while Shaynna appreciated the unique artwork and James Hardie groove. Marty, however, had mixed feelings about the bathroom, criticizing the tile choice in the shower and the color of the walls. Despite some critiques, the judges agreed that Kylie and Brad had made significant progress and created a special bathroom.

“Is not what I would've done. It's better than the first bathroom, but it feels a bit off” |
Darren Palmer |
“It's encapsulated that shower space so beautifully, and it needs that balance, that softness, even if it's not a real timber, it is a beautiful use of this tile” |
Shaynna Blaze |
“I think it is so much more sophisticated” |

WEEK 10:
LAUNDRY & GUEST BEDROOM
Kylie and Brad were pleased with their black and white guest bedroom and laundry, but the judges had mixed reactions. They praised the styling but criticized the layout and acoustics. Marty felt the room lacked the warmth of their downstairs rooms, while Shaynna thought the upstairs space was inconsistent. Kylie and Brad were frustrated by the feedback and felt they weren't being heard.

WEEK 12:
BACKYARD
House 4, facing a challenging week, presented a "low maintenance" backyard designed for a holiday home lifestyle. While the judges initially praised the pool area's potential, they were disappointed by the small deck and wasted space. The pool tiles and the execution of the firepit area were also criticised. Overall, the judges felt that the backyard lacked emotional connection and was poorly planned, with little consideration for the buyer's perspective. Despite the shortcomings, Darren acknowledged that the yard wouldn't deter a potential buyer, but it certainly didn't stand out compared to the other houses.
