Set within the unique landscapes of Australia, this series uncovers the remarkable blend of architectural ingenuity and luxurious design that characterises Australian homes. In this episode, Jalè Bozan from interiors by Jalè takes us through her recent project at 5 Kendall Street, Canterbury. We spoke with Jalè to hear more about the design inspiration and story of this home. 

Behind The Design

What was the design inspiration for the home?

From the outset, Kendall Street was inspired to design a home that embodies a serene, light, and airy ambience while embracing rich textures to evoke a sense of refined elegance. Stylistically, we were particularly captivated by the Modern Provincial aesthetic, which informed the overall vision for the home.

What inteior style did you choose?

We felt that the Modern Provincial style perfectly suited the architectural plans we received, with the façade strongly influencing our design direction. Blending traditional and contemporary elements allowed us to create spaces throughout the home that embody a timeless, casual elegance without overwhelming the senses. We incorporated charming touches with textured surfaces and artisanal tiles, along with classic details like brushed brass fixtures and profiled cabinetry.

Wet Areas

In all of the wet areas,  Jalè chose our Forte Ceppo Cenere Microtec tile on the floors and wall/s and created a lineal feature with our Fire Fingers White Gloss. This tile combination looks incredibly elegant paired with the fluted bath and basins from ADP and the slim shaker profile of the vanities.

Outdoors

Jalè chose our Pompeii Travertine Cenere 20mm Paver as the outdoor tile in the alfreso area to continue the elegant, modern provincial aesthetic. The 20mm pavers were installed using a pedestal flooring solution. Click here to find out more about pedestal flooring.

What's future projects are in the pipeline for Interiors by Jalè?
