It’s a maximum impact slab tile and, using roller press technology, has minimum depth at a 3.5mm (or 5.6mm) profile creating ceramic skins for exteriors and interiors. The 3.5mm tiles have fibreglass strength so they can bend on a curve and are reinforced on the back with 0.5 mm thick glass fibre mesh for optimal mechanical strength

Coverlam's 3.5mm thick tile weighs 7.8 kg/m2 and the 5.6mm thick weighs 14 kg/m2. Its slim profile makes cutting/handling easier and faster offering substantial financial savings in projects. It's resistant to bending, UV light, chemicals, wear, fire and frost. It prevents mould, bacteria and is easy to clean. It's eco-friendly using 2 – 3 times less raw quarry materials than any other type of porcelain tile and, fired in a hybrid kiln (gas and electricity), requires less energy to produce. It's recyclable. Coverlam can be treated with Hydrotect® - a titanium dioxide coating that gives it self-cleaning, antibacterial and odour-elimination properties. Exposing the coating to ultraviolet radiation produces a photo catalytic reaction that generates active oxygen and breaks down the dirt into smaller, less adhesive particles. Due to its hydrophilic properties, water spreads uniformly over the surface, facilitating drag and removal of dirt particles.
