We've seen some great bathrooms this year on House Rules, and with the phase four reveals this Sunday, it’s a great time to stop and look back on some of our favourite bathroom trends from the show.

The House Rules teams are in Geraldton, a coastal city in the mid Western region of Western Australia.

The brief this week: transform a 1970s styled Spanish villa into a comfortable family home for owners Karina and Brian and their three children.

Two out of the five rules have a big focus on nature – the teams must 'bring the outside in with texture and tone' and 'give nature's treasures pride of place'.

Many designers would lean towards timber to deliver against this brief but tiles can play a big role here too and even act as a substitute for natural wood.

Stone tiles would be an obvious choice but there are a number of other options within the Beaumont Tiles that deliver a warm, textured and organic look and feel.

Here are some products from our range that are perfect for a beautiful, stylish and a little bit unique approach to bringing the outside in to your home.

For Nick & Chris's laundry they've chosen Street Art: a porcelain tile covered in all sorts of graffiti. The tiles - which are suitable for walls, floors, and wet areas - are striking, edgy, and super cool. It's a bold choice. Michelle admits: "Nick and Chris will either love the tiles in the laundry or they will hate them."

Carly & Leighton might have played a little on the safe side in the first week of the House Rules competition, but did so by taking great care with their choices to consider Jemma & Ben's style, their five all-important House Rules, the spaces they were renovating, and even the flow of the whole house. It certainly paid off, with the South Australian team on the top of the leader board at the end of week one.

Jane & Plinio opted for snow white wall tiles and almost black floor tiles, but no one would accuse them of creating a "Collingwood bathroom." The key to the success of their bathroom transformation for Jemma & Ben's Perth home in the first week of House Rules is in the Velvet Grey tiled feature wall behind the bath.

Amy & Sean were worried that they had drawn the short straw with the beauty room and hallway in Jemma & Ben's Perth house this week on Hose Rules, but when one of the five all-important House Rules left by the owners singles out the beauty room, there's a great opportunity to impress.

On last night's episode of House Rules, Chris really didn't want a "Collingwood Kitchen" and fair enough - you probably don't want a room that reminds you of your least favourite football team. Or any football team at all, really.

But would a black and white kitchen really look like Collingwood colours? Black and white feature prominently in many sensational kitchens, so unless you're putting a big strip of white next to a big strip of black, and repeat in a stripe pattern; we'd like to think not.
